Aperol was developed in 1919 by the Barbieri brothers, from Padua, Italy. As specialists in liqueur production since 1880, Aperol was launched with the revolutionary idea of creating the lightest of liqueurs and an aperitif with an alcohol content of only 11%. Aperol is an infusion of fruits with herbs and roots in a perfectly balanced combination. Vibrant orange in colour, Aperol has a unique bitter-sweet taste.
Aperol Spritz: Fill a large wine glass with ice. Add 75ml Prosecco, then 50ml Aperol and a dash of soda water. Garnish with an orange slice.
